When users try to launch WIN+X menu either by making right-click on the start button and using WIN + X key combination, trigger explorer.exe to crash and later restart. So overall, WIN+X menu is not opening. Microsoft is already aware of this issue and mentioned same bug in Windows 11 build announcement. You can find it under Taskbar Know issue section.

Fortunately, there’s a quick workaround using which you can fix and restore WINX functionality. Here’s what you need to do: Download VIVETool using this link. Extract the zip file to obtain the tool and required files. Launch Windows Terminal app in Windows 11. For that, click on Search icon and type Windows Terminal and when it appear in search results, click to open it. In Windows terminal, depending on your default shell profile, it could be Command prompt and Powershell, you need to execute following command: Note before executing command, you need to select directly where vivetool is located. For that type cd to change ‘directory location‘. In my case its located at Downloads folder (C:\Users\Viney\Downloads\ViVeTool-0.2.1) So my command is: cd C:\Users\Viney\Downloads\ViVeTool-0.2.1 After that execute these commands: Command prompt: vivetool addconfig 26008830 2 Windows PowerShell: .\vivetool addconfig 26008830 2 Once you added a message that feature is added succesfuly, try to launch WINX menu and this time it should open for sure. If not, reboot your computer and check again. As it is a know issue, Microsoft will definitely fix this in upcoming Windows 11 Dev build.
